Mommy & Me Photos: August 2016

All I had ever wanted since i could remember was to get married to an amazing man and start a family! As a little girl I would dream of the perfect life that I someday wanted to create. When I met Parker a week before my sixteenth birthday, I knew he was the man that I wanted to share the rest of my life with. Over the past eleven and a half years together we have grown so much, learned a ton, been through ups and downs but most importantly have had the most amazing adventures together. I have to say that becoming parents has been one of the most incredible experiences yet. Seeing Parker as a father has made me fall deeper in love with him. Some nights I just listen to Parker and Bennan giggling in the other room and hearing the two of them together brings so much joy to my heart. I mean seeing a big burly bearded dude so in love with his sweet little baby is pretty damn cute!

As for me, becoming a mother has been so amazingly incredible and rewarding. It is also a lot harder than I expected. When they set Bennan on my chest after being born, I felt love and a connection that I had never experienced before. I thought to myself "I created this little human and I get to nourish and care for him." My love for baby B grows stronger everyday. He is such a sweet, happy and loving baby. His smile is so contagious, it will make anyone smile and light up (everywhere we go people stop me because he is such a happy little dude).

That being said, I don't want to sugar coat it all. Yes it is truly the best thing to ever happen to us but I never realized how independent I was until after having Bennan. Although he is the "perfect baby" and I am totally serious by saying that, It is truly a life changer. I go to my work out class and most of the time I am changing a diaper or feeding him in the middle while everyone else is doing burpees. Or there will be days where I have a ToDo List and I only get one thing accomplished when I used to get all 20 done!! And just ask my girlfriends, it takes me about fifteen extra minutes when I say "I'm leaving the house now." Welcome to mom life!

I am so impressed with moms who work full time, have kids and keep the house going! I may look like I have my stuff together most of the time but some days I feel like I am a hot mess! I only work part time, have a one baby and I try my hardest to keep this house running! Thank god for my extremely supportive husband! He has been so amazing through this whole process of figuring out our new life with baby! Parker, thank you for being my best friend and holding me together! I love you! Also I just have to say how grateful I am for our awesome friends and family! It means the world to have such a positive and loving support system!

When my bestie was here visiting in August, she was so sweet to capture these photos! I have been meaning to share them. Such a nice chill photo sesh. Bennan is already getting used to the camera in his face 24/7.
