When Bennan was about five weeks old we found out that I was not producing enough breast milk for him. We quickly needed to start supplementing with formula and I needed to try to increase my milk supply. I started doing research on how to increase milk production. I found a variety of things to try and trust me, I tried just about all of them.

I came across this recipe, No-Bake Lactation Bites but I decided to rename it. These Power Bites are a great grab and go snack for a busy mom, breastfeeding or not! I love having them in the refrigerator to grab quickly when I am starving and need a healthy snack.

Now that I am not breastfeeding I leave out the brewer’s yeast. It can have a strong taste if you use too much.

For the breastfeeding mamas-

Oats, Flaxseed and Brewer’s Yeast are the Galactagogue ingredients that help increase milk production. Galactagogue is an action, herb or food that can help jump start your production of breast milk or increase the amount of milk that you make. Side note- I also took Fenugreek daily while breastfeeding to help with milk supply.

These are super easy to prepare and they store very well. I hope you enjoy these tasty little snacks!

XOXO,

Analisa

Where to find Flaxmeal and Brewers Yeast

I found Flaxmeal and Brewer’s Yeast at Sprouts grocery store, they can also be found at most health food stores or online.
